Ronald Lee McFarland, age 83, of Seagrove, passed away on March 7, 2025.
Mr. McFarland was born on January 17, 1942, in Durham County to William and Lillie Carpenter McFarland. Ronald dedicated many years of his career as a repairman for the telephone company until his retirement.. In his spare time he enjoyed raising cattle, fishing and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Henderson McFarland, brother Stuart McFarland and great granddaughter Olivia McFarland.
He is survived by his daughter Sherry Long (Bobby) of Marshallberg, NC and son Linwood McFarland (Margie) of Seagrove. Grandchildren Jeremiah Carter, Taylor Long, Lee McFarland (Heather) and Corey Long; as well as great grandchildren Adyline Carter, Jeremiah Carter Jr., Emi-Rose Carter, William Cain McFarland, Lilly McFarland, and Samuel McFarland.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 10, 2025, at Phillips Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 PM.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Asbury Baptist Church with Rev. Allen Mashburn officiating. Burial will follow at Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Asbury Baptist Church, 218 Asbury Church Rd, Seagrove, NC 27341.
