Ronald McLain Obituary
He was born on September 19, 1940 in West Frankfort to Delbert and Thelma (Springer) McLain. He was a retired schoolteacher, after teaching many years at both the Herrin Junior and Senior High Schools. He was a faithful member of the Marion First Baptist and previously attended the Herrin First Christian Church, were he served as a Deacon. Ronald enjoyed going fishing.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Mike, Delbert, Dan, and Richard McLain; and a sister Lillie Mae Nolen.
He is survived by his wife Sidney; son Dr. Scott McLain; a special nephew Brad McLain; along with several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Saturday February 28, 2026 in the Union Funeral Home in West Frankfort at 11:00am with Ron Henwood officiating. Interment will be in the Masonic & Odd Fellows Cemetery in Benton. Visitation will be held from 9:00am to 11:00am at the funeral home prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to the Marion First Baptist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
