Ronald "Ron" Gene Meely Jr. passed away Tuesday, August 13th, 2024 at his home in Holdenville, Oklahoma at the age of 49.
Ron was born April 30, 1975 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Ronald Gene Meely Sr. and Elizabeth Ann (Johnson) Harjo. Ron graduated from Holdenville High School. He attended Hillsdale Christian College and played Basketball while he was in attendance. Ron was a member of the First Indian Baptist Church in Holdenville. He enjoyed basketball, sports, beadwork, collecting hats, native jewelry and taking pictures. He loved spending time with family, friends and music.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his children; Makayla Hunt and husband Ethan of Seminole, Tray Brock of Lamar, grandchild Harper Sage Hunt, siblings; Joanna Meely Tiger and husband Amos of Holdenville, Bobby Davis of Seminole, Choya Lee Davis and wife Katie of Seminole, and step-mom Debbie Meely of Oklahoma City. Ron is survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers are Bobby Davis, Choya Davis, Ryan Moppin, Martin Rodriquez, Salathiel Johnson and Nazariah Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Brian Factor, Cory Zellner, Eastwind Johnson, Amos Tiger, Mark Davis and Justin Purvis.
Viewing will be 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, August 17th and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, August 18th at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home then at 4:00 p.m. Ron will be taken to First Indian Baptist Church for the Wake Service starting at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 19, 2024 at First Indian Baptist Church in Holdenville with Pastor Maurice Morgan officiating assisted by Pastor Ed Bear.
Interment will follow at Johnson Family Cemetery in Wewoka, Oklahoma.
Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
