Ronald Mejia, 73, of Vineland, NJ, passed away on October 5, 2023, under the care of Holy Redeemer Hospice at Inspira Medical Center Vineland.
Ron was born in Bronx, NY to Onesimo Mejia and Violeta (Luna) Mejia. He graduated from Vineland High School in 1968. He was the owner of Systec of Vineland for over 40 years. He possessed an expert knowledge of electronics and could deftly plan and implement any project large or small. Ron was an avid basketball fan and loved playing a good game of hoops at the YMCA. He enjoyed swimming, gardening, and fine dining with friends; especially when accompanied by a martini or a B52. Ron valued spending time with his family and traveling with his wife, Stephanie. Playing outside with his three English bulldogs was a favorite and cherished pastime.
Ron is survived by his wife, Stephanie (Higgins); his sisters, Cynthia Mejia of North Carolina, Wilma (Dale) McCourt of North Carolina and Jeannie Mejia of Colorado; his brothers, Norman Mejia of Colorado and girlfriend Miranda, Allen Mejia of Texas, and David (Kathy) Anavitarte of Texas; sister-in-law, Kathleen P. Higgins; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as great-nephews and nieces. He will be sadly missed by his beloved English bulldogs: Gomez, Roxanne, and Nipsey.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Onesimo and Tomasita Mejia, his mother, Violeta Anavitarte, father-in-law, Joseph M. Higgin Jr. and brother-in-law, Dr. Joseph M. Higgins, III.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, October 12, 2023 from 9:30am to 11:30am followed by a brief service at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Avenue, Vineland NJ 08361. Interment will be private.
