Mr. Ronald Lee Mink, 71, known to the community as "Squirrel", passed away on Sunday afternoon, May 28, 2023, at the Danville Health & Rehab.
He was born in Berea, Kentucky on January 30, 1952, the son of the late Leroy & Ruby Middleton Mink. "Squirrel" worked at various places around Richmond including HT Hackney, Madison County Jail, and the Madison County School System as a bus driver. He was a member of the Broadhead Church of Christ and a proud US Air Force Veteran. One of "Squirrel" accomplishments that he was most proud of was his service to his community as a 23-year member of the Madison County Rescue Squad.
Survivors include: his son, Robert Mink (Amy); his former spouse, Bonnie Jean York; one step-son, Randall Lamb (Tina); two sisters, Ann Todd (Larry), and Lois Jean Hall; five grandchildren, Samantha, Breanna, Brandon, Aaron & Travis Mink; three nieces, Tina French (Chris), Rhonda Lamb, and Angela Boggs (Elmer); as well as a host of friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: one son, James Mink; five brothers and 2 sisters.
Graveside service with full military honors will be conducted at 11 AM on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at the Camp Nelson National Cemetery, 6980 Danville Road, Nicholasville, KY 40356.
