Ronald Myers Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jul. 27, 2025.
Ronald Drew Myers, of Southampton, PA, died on Sunday, July 20, 2025 at Southampton Estates. He was 81 years old.
Ron is the beloved husband of Patricia G. Wood Myers. Born in Lancaster City, PA, Ron was the son of the late Lloyd and Dorothy Yeagley Myers. He was also the brother of the late Barry Myers.
After graduating from Lehigh University, Ron worked as a Chemical Engineer for Rohm and Haas for 35 years. Early in his career, Ron helped start two plants in Houston, TX that made a component used to make Plexiglas. After he and Patricia settled in Southampton, Ron began working in Bristol, PA, where he rose to lead the Engineering Technology Group, became an expert in the use of process simulators, had his work published in scientific journals, and served as the company's representative for many industry groups. Ron also participated in the creation of a chemical plant safety program that is used industry-wide to this day.
After Ron retired, he and Patrica enjoyed traveling the world together, especially their annual trips to Oaxaca, Mexico, and spending time with family and friends. Ron also never stopped learning. He took Spanish lessons and taught himself how to invest. Ron also was a talented bridge player who enjoyed the game and its strategic challenges. And he was a voracious reader of countless novels, biographies, and histories.
In addition to Patricia, his wife of 57 years, Ron will be missed and remembered by his daughter Karen Kern and her husband Rick, and his son Karl Myers and his wife Erin. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Skye Kern.
A Tribute to Ron will be held on a future date, and details will be announced here when finalized.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, at
