Ronald Stephen "Steve" Myers, age 72 of Speedwell, TN passed away peacefully Saturday, October 25, 2025, after a brief illness. He was saved an early age New Salem Baptist Church and was a 1971 graduate of Powell Valley High School. His passion for the cattle business allowed him to be a lifetime farmer, livestock dealer, and proud owner of Ewing Livestock in Ewing, VA and Union Livestock in Knoxville, TN.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George Arnold Myers and Ruby Jean (Leach) Myers; maternal grandparents, Horace and Carrie (Bullard) Leach; and paternal grandparents, Lenis Henry "L.H." and Lottie (Bean) Myers.
He leaves behind his precious family, sisters, Elizabeth Anne (Lawrence) Mathews Bunch of Tazewell, TN and Linda Faye (David) Mundy of Speedwell, TN; nieces, Suzannah (Brandon) Jones of Jonesville, VA and Jamie (Billy) Ball of Lafollette, TN; nephew, Travis (Sammie) Mundy of Speedwell, TN; great nephews, Lane Jones, Brody Ball, and Eli Mundy; great nieces, Bailey Ball and Madison "Maddie" Mundy; and special friends, the employees and customers of Ewing Livestock, Big Stone Gap Branch of Truist Bank, Jessica Killion and Robin Long. He is also survived by several loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 30, at the Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel with Rev. Greg Hurst presiding. Burial will follow in the Leach Cemetery in Speedwell. Pallbearers will be Bobby Chumley, Andy Welch, Clarke Bullard, Jim Jessie, Justin Hurst, Shayne Evans, Greg Hatmaker, and Jacob Maness. Honorary pallbearers are Lawrence Bunch, Virgil Seabolt, Sam Greer, Wes Clark, Boonie Martin, Larkin Hoskins, Shelby Ely, Alan Ingle, Ronnie Horton, Frank Dixon, Eddie Myers, Kern Myers, WC Vaughn, Kyle Rector, Tim Bullard, Jackie Barnard, Jackson Barnard, Gary Crockett, Devin Munsey, Jeff Jenkins, John Mills, Robert Greer, Ed Smiddy, Clarence Ellison, Doug Hill, Nick Humphrey, Dr. Carroll Rose, Ben Childress, and Employees and Customers of Ewing Livestock Market.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 29, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel in Harrogate, which is honored to be serving the Myers family.
