Ron was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Sharon, who passed away in 2014. He was a devoted father to his three children, Ron (Barb), the late Randy (and his late wife Jenny), and Cheri, and a proud grandfather of five grandchildren - Lindsey (Jack), Jeremy (Sandra), Ryan, Randal, and Paulie - as well as a great-grandfather to Ben, who brought him endless joy.
Ron dedicated his career to public service, retiring as a Chicago Park District Supervisor after 28 years and later serving with the Chicago Police Department for 10½ years. In 1992, he made history as the oldest recruit in the department at the age of 52.
Visitation and Celebration of Life, Tuesday, October 21, 2025, from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium, 7861 S. 88th Ave., Justice, Illinois.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
