Ronald R. Pruitt, Sr., 72 of Winchester, VA, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at his home.
Ron was born in 1952 in Greenbrier County, West Virginia, the son of the late Charlie Pruitt, Sr. and Beulah Mae Pruitt. He served our country in the United States Marine Corps. He retired in 2019 as owner of Taxi USA in Winchester, a business he took great pride in, especially helping his employees and customers. He attended Rupert Missionary Baptist Church. Ron enjoyed working on cars. He loved his animals and enjoyed helping the wildlife that came into his yard. Ron was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys and Ohio State Buckeyes fan. He also enjoyed working in his yard, dancing and helping his wife at craft shows. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.
He married Terri A. Patterson on December 31, 1978, in Winchester, VA.
Ron is survived by his wife, Terri; daughters, Brooke Johnston (Donnie), Tiffany Getz (Robby), Rhea Pruitt (Mojoe); grandchildren, Austin, Caden, Brogan, Cole, Jaizaiah, Elijah and Easton and brothers, Charlie Pruitt, Jr. and Tommy Pruitt. He is also survived by his beloved pets, Miss Gibbs and Sammy.
In addition to his parents, Ron is preceded in death by his sisters, Dorothy Bledsoe and Mollie Pruitt and his brother, James Pruitt.
A visitation will be held for Ron on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, from 6pm to 8pm with a service to be conducted the following day, Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 11am all held at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Interment will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Ron to the Winchester SPCA, 111 Featherbed Lane, Winchester, VA 22601.
