Ronald Allen "Windy" Rittinger, Sr., 86, of Chillicothe passed 4:25 p.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at Adena Regional Medical Center following brief.

He was born January 27, 1939 in Bainbridge to the late Leonard and Gwendlyn Rittinger. On November 12, 1965 he married Marilyn Preston who survives.

Also surviving are sons, Ronald Allan (Pamela Lee) Rittinger, Jr., of Centerville and Rodney Levan Rittinger, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Hailee (Tony) Manfredi, Madison Rittinger, Gabby Rittinger and Ava Rose Rittinger; great grandson, Brooks Anthony-Alan Manfredi; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister, Deanna Rittinger; step-sister, Valetta Mankin; step-brother, Ronnie Mankin.

"Windy" enjoyed the outdoors. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, word working and fighting with Rodney. "Windy" especially liked fishing and hunting with his brother-in-law, Mike and sons.

"Windy" retired from Reynolds Metal after 30 years.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, August 23, 2025 and the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Craig Reichert officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery with Military Rites given by the Ross County Honor Guard. Visitation will be 11 – 1 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday.
