Ronald “Ron” Eugene Robinson was born March 16, 1948, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of John and BettyJo (Healea) Robinson. He graduated from East Waterloo High School. After graduation, Ron joined the United States Navy. He served his county for 35 years, four years in the Navy and 31 in the Army, from which he retired. Ron married Rose Derifield in 1987 in Black Hawk County. He was a true Patriot through and through for God, family, and his country. Ron was an avid fisherman, enjoyed antique John Deere tractors and was the President of the Cedar Valley Engine Club.
Ron passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023, at Ravenwood Specialty Care, at the age of 75. He is survived by his wife, Rose of Vinton; two daughters, Andrea (Todd) Robinson of Virginia and Alison Robinson of Virginia, along with their mother, Karen; siblings, Jerry (Dawn) Robinson of Mt. Auburn, Iowa, Sandra (Don) Borwig of Evansdale, Iowa, Laurie (Lee) Schissel of Waverly, Iowa and Chad Laures of Virginia; step-children; nieces; nephews and step-grandchildren.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; aunts and uncles.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
Visitation: Friday, October 27, 2023, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Parrott and Wood Chapel of Memories in Waterloo.
Service: Friday, October 27, 2023, at 11:00 am at Parrott and Wood Chapel of Memories in Waterloo.
Burial: Memorial Park Cemetery.
