Ronald Regis Romano, Sr. Anderson, SC Ronald Regis Romano, Sr. 82, of Anderson, S.C, passed away Sept. 06, 2011, at Hospice of the Upstate. Born in Chicago on May 26, 1929, he was the son of the late Dr. John and Elena Romano. He Graduated from the University of Toledo. For 47 years he was Vice President of Research and Development and Quality Control at Church and Dwight International. He also worked as a registered Pharmacist. Mr. Romano was a devoted and loving husband and father. He was a member of Saint Joseph's Catholic Church. Surviving; a brother Dr. John (Elaine) Romano and sister-in-law Flora of Chicago, Illinois; sister-in-law Florence (Norbert) Fehringer of Tucson, Arizona; sons, John (Elaine), Frederick (Lynell), Ronald (Melissa), Tony (Elise), Daniel, and William (Joy); and daughters, Teresa (Pete) Thalassinos, Suzy (Tim) Baldwin, Laura Wooten, and Rita (Stephen) Kirven. He was a proud grandfather of 27 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Romano was predeceased by his loving wife of 48 years, Catherine M. Romano; a brother Joseph and grandson Sgt. Nicholas Romano, USMC. Also surviving is his faithful canine companion, Marco. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home in Pickens. A Mass honoring Ronald Regis Romano, Sr. will be held Monday, September 12, 2011 at 10 a.m. at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Pickens, conducted by Father Emmanuel. The family will also receive friends at the church following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
