Ronald “Ron” D. Hoefling, 69, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Accura HealthCare of Pomeroy. Memorial services will be held at 10AM on Saturday, November 1st, 2025 at the First Covenant Church, 201 Avenue H – Fort Dodge, with Pastor Allen Redenius officiating. Inurnment will take place at McGuire Bend Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family. Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge. 

Ronald was born June 25, 1956, in Omaha, NE, the son of Lawrence C. and Lois E. (Gillespie) Hoefling. He graduated from Ralston Senior High School in Ralston, NE 1974, and continued his education at Ambassador College, Western Iowa Tech and Trade School in Lincoln, NE. On May 4, 1991, he was united in marriage to Sarah McGuire at the First Covenant Church. For many years, Ron worked as a Laborer/Packing House Employee. He also rang the bells for the Salvation Army for 17 years. Ron enjoyed reading (especially The Bible), playing chess, surfing the internet, talking on the phone, shopping and being with his family and friends in Fort Dodge. He also enjoyed attending church at First Covenant Church where he was a member since 1998.

Ron is survived by 2 children: Rebekah Hoefling of West Des Moines, IA and Micah Hoefling of Fort Dodge; brother: Tom Hoefling and wife Sienna of Lohrville, IA; half-sister: Theresa Tunender and husband Steven Sr. of Nebraska; step-mother: Leanne Hartman and husband Galen of New Market, IA. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 2016; his parents; grandparents: Mary and Harold Hoefling; aunt: Pearl Howard; uncles: Ray Johnson, Don Hoefling and wife Roberta of Odebolt, IA; as well as 2 nieces and a nephew.
