Ronald Wayne Ruby

Ronald "Ron" Wayne Ruby, of Davison (formerly of Otter Lake), passed away unexpectedly on April 20, 2024.
He was born on May 16, 1964 to Mary Sandra "Sandy" Ruby. Ron grew up in Otter Lake, MI where he attended LakeVille Community Schools. He loved playing football and being a LakeVille Falcon. After graduating high school in 1982, he went on to attend Ferris State University, majoring in Design Engineering. Ron joined the United States Army in 1985, where he proudly served his country. He was a Corporal in the U.S Army Rangers of the 82nd Engineering Battalion until he was honorably discharged in 1989. Ron wore his veteran status with extreme pride and was an active member of The American Legion Post 321 (formerly Post 504). Ron made his career as a Design Engineer, most recently with General Motors. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Ron enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing golf, watching football, playing poker, bonfires, doing household and home improvement projects (as long as he had his gloves), and attending the occasional concert.
Ron leaves behind his daughters: Jhenna (Nick) and Cheyenne (Christian); brothers: Scott (Jennifer) and Allen (Malu); grandchildren: Aria, Dahlia, Harper, Mila, Diesel and Blake; as well as many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary "Sandy" Ruby and his "Pops", Bernard Ruby.
A funeral service will be held at 10AM on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Mumford-Hudson Funeral Home in Otisville, MI. with a dinner to follow at the Forest Twp. Hall. The family will receive visitors on Friday, April 26, 2024 from 4-8 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery on Monday, April 29, 2024 at 10AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.
