It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of our beloved Ronald Wayne Rybicki, who was embraced by his Lord and Savior on July 15, 2025. Ron was drafted and served in the the 500th Military Intelligence Group of the United States Army Forces, Far East and Eighth United States Army in Japan from May 4, 1954 to September 24, 1956. After his honorable discharge, Ron attended Michigan State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1959 and a Master of Science degree in 1962.
His career as a Fisheries Biologist and Statistician began in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1962 with his young family. In 1965, the family moved back to Michigan where Ron worked for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and retired in 1996, for a career spanning 34 years.
Ron was a wonderful spouse, loving parent/grandparent/great grandparent, and loyal friend. Margaret Ann McColly and Ron married in 1954 when he was 20 and she was 18. Together they built a life rich in love and mutual respect through good times and bad for 71 years. Proud dad of Mark and John, he embraced the joys and challenges of parenthood with boundless patience, affection, and selfless giving. Remembering Ron, we celebrate a life overflowing with love, and devotion to family and God. Though he will be greatly missed, we are comforted to know that he is with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May we honor not only in words, but in the way we live our own lives- in Christ with compassion, courage, and an open heart.
Rest in peace, Ron. Your legacy lives on in all of us who loved you.
