Ronald Marvin Savela

Ronald Marvin Savela of Calumet, Michigan passed away February 10, 2024 in Manchester. He was 86 years old. Ronald's family and friends will gather on February 24, 2024 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Eineder Funeral Homes - Manchester Chapel (207 East Duncan St. Manchester, MI). A memorial service will be held following visitation at 11:00 am at the funeral home.
Ronald was born in Detroit to Otto and Sylvia (Lampela) Saviluoto on June 27, 1937. Ronald attended Michigan Technological University and Lawrence Tech. He was an Electrical Engineer and was employed with Massey Ferguson, Perkins Engines, and Detroit Diesel Corporation. Ronald had the opportunity to work in England, Africa, Canada, Alaska, and many places in the United States. He tested tractors, snowmobiles and boats. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Ronald was approached by Michigan Technological University to oversee students' projects with Hybrid vehicles and SAE Racing Teams. He took pride in his accomplishments. Ronald was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He married Carolyn Marie (Wesselin), whom precedes him in passing on March 14, 2000.
Ronald is survived by his three children, Ronnie Scott (Lori Flint), Renee Marie (Robert Fromm), Richard Eric; grandchildren, Kristy (Danny), Bailey (Corey), Eric, Andy (Amanda), Alison (Mitch); and great-grandchildren, Scarlet, Everly, Sidney, Cora, Jayce, Carter, and June, and another baby expected in April; and former daughter's-in-law, Janis Sever and Judy McFarland.
