Ronald Burtnet Sellers, founder of Snow Lake Kampground, Inc. in Fenwick, Michigan, quietly passed away at 11:17 a.m. on December 29, 2024, at the age of 90. Ron was born on August 14, 1934, to Havard and Alice Sellers in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Camp Hill High School, he served honorably in the U.S. Army, ultimately serving as a medical corpsman stationed at Walter Reed Army in Washington, D.C. He went on to study pharmacology at Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science. Ron owned several businesses in Maryland, including a real estate management firm, several restaurants, and a tractor dealership. After moving to Michigan, he founded a restaurant in Lansing and Snow Lake Kampground in Fenwick, which he purchased in 1978. Ron had a long career in commercial real estate management, and he retired from Michigan National Bank after serving as the bank's Vice President and Director of Real Estate Operations.
Ron is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marie E. Sellers. He is also survived by his sons Richard Sellers and John Sellers, grandchildren Briana Kmiecik, Brandon Sellers and Kori Sellers, and great-grandson, Zane Sellers.
Ron dedicated his time to family, his various businesses and his career. He held a Michigan Real Estate Broker's license, he was a Certified Review Appraiser, and he held designations as a Real Property Administrator and Certified Property Manager. In 1986, Ron was honored to serve as the President of Michigan Chapter #5 of the Institute of Real Estate Management.
Funeral Services will be held at Lake Funeral Home, 3521 S. State Rd., Ionia, Michigan, beginning at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 7, 2025. Visitation will take place 1 hour prior to the service, (10-11 AM) Following the service, he will then be interred at Sunset Memorial Gardens at 2811 S. State Rd., Ionia, Michigan. Lunch will be provided afterward at Steel Street Hall.115 S Steele st. Ionia, Michigan. Memorial Contribution may me made to the Ionia County Veterans Service's.
