Uncle Ron,

You are missed by so many! Even though I didn't grow up spending a lot of time around you, and I regret that.

One of my fondest memories as a kid was you picking me up and taking me to a scout function in San Saba back in the late 80s in the old white Chevy Blazer. You were constantly getting calls from the station and finally told someone... "I'm out of town with my nephew. Get someone else!".

No matter what I was going through either in my personal life, work life, relationships, you ALWAYS treated me with respect. When Christina and I got married in 2003, I remember you going up to her and welcoming her into the family and to keep me in line!

When we moved to Washington State in 2011, you would call Christina, my Dad or me to give us updates on the weather along the route.

Christina would tell me how you would text her out of the blue and just have a conversation and then at the end, you'd say "Love, Gramps". She always loved getting those texts.

When we moved back to Texas in 2021, y'all were some of the first ones we stopped to visit.

You are severely missed, loved and will forever be remembered as one of the best men I knew. Thank you for the memories, knowledge and for being my favorite Uncle. You are at peace with Aunt Bitsy, Mamaw & Papaw.

Until we meet again!

Erik, Christina, Cody, Noah, and Dakota Smith
