Ronald Teague Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Scot Ward Funeral Services - Conyers on Dec. 30, 2025.
Ronald Dennis Teague, 79, of Covington, GA, passed away Sunday December 28th surrounded by his family.

Ron was born October 4, 1946 in Gaffney, SC, the fourth of five children, to Charlie Harrison Teague and Velma Blanton Teague.

After graduating from Gaffney High School in 1964, where he played record-setting All-State basketball, Ron earned a basketball scholarship to North Greenville College. Once there, he also co-founded their golf team.

Ron then went into the Army in 1966 and served proudly until he was honorably discharged in 1969.

Ron married Janet Martin on May 25, 1974 at Columbia Drive Baptist Church in Decatur, GA with Dr. J. Don Aderhold officiating. They were married for 51 loving years and never left one another's sides; through thick and thin they raised 5 children and cherished every second with their 6 grandchildren.

Earlier in life, Ron was an avid fisherman and golfer until arthritic knees eventually prevented the latter. He loved to tease and laugh. He loved great food, classic country music, and watching "stories" with his bride in later years. He also loved cheering for the Atlanta Braves and the Georgia Bulldogs. What he loved most of all though was simply spending time with his family.

The majority of his career, Ron worked with concrete; first, selling it for Williams Brothers and then Humphrey's Concrete before founding and operating his own business, Quality Concrete, for over 30 years. He sealed, stained, and cured residential and commercial projects of all sizes across metro Atlanta and even the southeast.

A loyal and loving husband, father, son, and pawpaw, Ron adored his family and leaves behind quite a legacy to cherish his memory: his wife Janet Martin Teague, his 5 children: Laura Stoner (John), Jason Teague, Brian Teague (Zeina), Carole Teague, and Ashley Scharff (David), his grandchildren: Lacy Stoner, Evan Martinez, Ozzy Teague, Emerson Scharff, Eleanor Teague, Ezra Scharff, and grandchild #7 arriving in April, his sisters: Elsie Cox, Nancy Martin, and Grace Blanton, and his many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Ron in death are his parents, Charlie Teague and Velma Teague, step-mother Lilly Teague, brothers William Blanton, Charles Teague, and sister Maxine Spencer.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 31st at 11:00 am at Shiloh Methodist Church in Covington, GA with Pastor Mike Wadley officiating. Visitation will be held at the sanctuary immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Ron's memory to the American Heart Association. Condolences may be submitted on-line at www.scotward.com.
