Ronald Jay Williams

Ronald Jay Williams passed away suddenly at home from medical complications on May 31, 2021 at the age of 65. Ron was born to Jay and Myrna Williams on October 10, 1955. He was raised in Centerville, Utah where he graduated from Viewmont High School in 1973.

Ron enjoyed participating in the Boy Scouts, working at the Boy Scout camp, and earning his Eagle Scout. After high school he served as an LDS missionary in the Central American Mission. Upon returning, he met the love of his life Crystal Kirby and they sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on November 1, 1979.

Ron earned his degree from the University of Utah in 1979 and was a life-long businessman, achieving multiple awards and accolades. During his career he traveled to nearly all 50 states, selling everything from gold plated roses to gumballs and vending machines. He loved to read and play brain games on his tablet. Ron found his niche consulting other businesses. He currently was the franchise business consultant for Neighborly. Ron was a hard worker, spending every weekend working on the yard and repairing odds and ends.

Ron loved serving in the church, especially working with the youth and children. He had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ. While in Florida he enjoyed serving on the High Council, working with the Spanish branches and practicing his Spanish. Music was a big part of Ron's life and he loved singing in the ward choir. Ron loved snow skiing, playing and watching hockey, riding motorcycles and fishing, but most of all he loved spending time and traveling with his family. He made a trip of a lifetime in April of 2021, returning to Costa Rica where he served his mission.

Grandchildren were his top priority. He would make each and every one of them feel special by attending school events, games and recitals. One of his favorite activities was to have a spa day with his granddaughter. He also loved skyping, playing games, and talking on the phone with his grandchildren.

Ron is preceded in death by his mother, and his two sisters, Sherree and Lisa. He is survived by his father Jay, two brothers Dale (Sharon), Scott (Crystal), his wife Crystal of almost 42 years and their five children; Rachel (Brent), Heidi (Daniel), Ryan (Ann), Holly (John) and Andrew. Ron will be greatly missed by his 16 grandchildren: Parker (Kayla), Corbin, Noah, Bridger, Annaka, Henry, Quinten, Emily, Lydia, Levi, Preston, Adam, Myrna May, Claire, and Paige, and by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 7, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the South Weber 5th Ward, 2620 E. 8200 S. South Weber, Utah. Friends may visit with family Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
