Ronnie Calvert, affectionately known by many as "Worm," passed away on February 16, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on July 4, 1945, Ronnnie dedicated a significant part of his life to his work in maintenance for the South Carolina Department of Transportation. His commitment to his profession was evident; he was known for his strong work ethic and never missed a day on the job.
Ronnnie was not only a dedicated worker but also a loving, kind, and selfless individual who left a lasting impression on those who had the pleasure of knowing him. His friendly demeanor made him approachable to everyone, and his fascinating stories and interests captivated many. He found joy in spending time with friends, sharing laughs, and creating memories that will be cherished forever. A lover of adventure, Ronnie enjoyed riding his moped, embodying a spirit of fun and freedom that reflected his zest for life. He never missed a weekend at the Thunderbird Flea market/ Spartanburg Flea Market.
He is survived by his brothers, Evertte and Donnie, who will miss him deeply. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Earl Calvert and Addie Lee Woody , along with several siblings, who have welcomed him with open arms.
Ronnie Calvert will be remembered not just for his professional dedication but for the love and kindness he spread throughout his life. His legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
