Ronnie Hugh Gilbert (Gibb) passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on November 21, 2023. Ronnie was a caring man who loved his family and would give the shirt off his back to help others. He never met a stranger and enjoyed being around people. His humor always brought a smile to everyone he met. Ronnie was often spotted hanging out with his friends and family in the community where he had lived his entire life as a native of Forsyth County. Ronnie loved his cars and was always looking for the next best trade, as he was constantly bargaining with the locals who shared his passion. Other hobbies he enjoyed included collecting clocks and browsing at flea markets.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and “Bertie” Gilbert; brothers, Big Gibb Gilbert, Harold Gilbert, James Gilbert, Voyd Gilbert, and Bobby Gene Gilbert; and sisters, Jolene Martin and Lucille Holbrook.
Survivors include his wife, Jeannine Anglin Gilbert; sons, Kevin Gilbert and Allen Gilbert; daughter and son-in-law, Denise Reynolds (Chuck) and his stepson, Chris Bagby; sister and brother-in-law, Helen Doss (Roy); sister-in-law, Nancy Gilbert, grandchildren, Ansley Hunt, Avery Hunt (Lexi), Carlee Gilbert, Christopher Bagby, Charles Bagby, Charlie Reynolds, Chandler Reynolds, and Connor Reynolds, great-grandchildren, Jameson, Finley, Myla, and Waylon, and several other nieces, nephews, relatives, and close friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 25, 2023, in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, Georgia, with Pastor Danny Bennett and Pastor Ruel Martin officiating. Pastor Danny Ray Martin will lead the family prayer. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens with Pastor Richard Picklesimer officiating.
