Ronald O. "Ronnie" Hamilton, age 83 of Gainesville, GA and formerly of Buford passed away Saturday, September 6, 2025, following an extended illness. Funeral service will be held Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Rev. Ted Williams will officiate. Interment will follow at Ivy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 4-8 PM at the funeral home.
Ronnie went peacefully to meet his Heavenly Father surrounded by the love of his family. Born on August 25, 1942, Ronnie lived a full and joyful life defined by deep faith, strong family bonds, and remarkable craftsmanship.
Upon entering heaven, we know Ronnie was joyfully reunited with his beloved parents, Willie and Virginia Hamilton; his grandmother, Myrtie Mae Judy Flower Drummond Hamilton; his Aunt Odean; his dear son, Shannon Hayes; and lifelong friends Ray, Harold, and Bobby. Most importantly, he greeted his Savior, Jesus Christ, with a heart full of peace.
Ronnie was a devoted husband to Agnes and a loving father to Beth, Bill, Jason, and Sherri. He was immensely proud of his nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, who brought him great joy. His loyal companion, "Tug the Pug," rarely left his side and brought comfort and laughter throughout the years.
Ronnie and Agnes shared a beautiful life together, full of adventure and love. They enjoyed traveling in their RV and making memories at their cherished home on Lake Lanier, where they were deeply loved by family and friends.
A 1960 graduate of Buford High School, Ronnie was a master cabinet maker whose exceptional skill and attention to detail earned him the respect of clients and lifelong friendships within the building industry. He had a rare gift-he could build or fix almost anything, and he did it with care, pride, and precision.
One of Ronnie's greatest passions was antique cars. He loved attending car shows, where he not only won many trophies and awards but also made countless friends who shared his enthusiasm and appreciation for classic craftsmanship.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to Ronnie's grandsons, Cole Hamilton & Matthew Rawsthorn, whose loving care made it possible for Ronnie to remain at home in his final days.
