Obituary
Mr. Ronnie Horton was born in Limestone County, Alabama on August 14, 1955, to the late Bennie Miles, Sr. and Christine H. Keith.
Ronnie loved basketball. He participated on the team all 4 years while attending Lee High School. His favorite pass time was sitting on the bank fishing. He loved working with his hands. He started Ron's Home Building & Repairs over 40 years ago. A lot of people were blessed with his craftmanship. He worked up until his health declined. He loved his family, but only wanted you to stay a little while and would put you out when he was ready for you to go. We loved it when every 4th of July came around, we were able to spend it as a family with "Uncle Knucklehead", as he was affectionately called.
He was proceeded in death by five brothers: William Houston, Billy Fletcher, John Jones, Sr., David Keith, and Jack Smith; three sisters: Mable Keith, Dorothy Sales, and Bonnie Horton (twin).
Ronnie's memories will forever be in the hearts of his loving and devoted wife Joyce Robinson Horton who was there by his side when he took his last breath; five children: Antonio Wallace of North Carolina, Bridgett (Darien) Brooks of Harvest, AL, Shawn (Natisha) Jefferson, Kmeka Robinson and Earl Robinson, Jr. all of Huntsville, AL; three brothers: Bennie (Clara) Miles of Madison, AL, James Smith, and Ernest (Vicki) Smith of Cincinnati, OH, six sisters: Benzillia Tony of Triana, AL, Joyce Robinson of Goleta, CA, Georgia Langhorn of Cleveland, OH, Susie Robinson, Georgia Hewlett of Huntsville, AL, and Virginia Jones of Madison, AL, two sisters-in-law: Sarah Fletcher of Birmingham, AL, and Annie Haze of Huntsville, AL, and a host of grands, great-grands, relatives, and friends.
He will also be missed by his devoted employees: Charles Haggert, Lawrence Bell, Willie Hampton, Ricky Hampton, Mike Humphrey, Randle Hewlett, Jr., Andrea Davis, and his son Shawn Jefferson.
Funeral service will be 12:30 p.m., Saturday, April 29, 2023 at the Royal Chapel of Memories (4315 Oakwood Avenue Huntsville, AL 35810) with Reverend Vera Bell officiating. Interment will be in the Valley View Memorial Gardens.
Public viewing will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Friday, April 28, 2023 and 8:30 a.m. until time of service, Saturday, April 29, 2023 at the Royal Funeral Home.
