Mrs. Rachel A. (See) Horton, 77, of Randolph, passed away Friday, October 31, 2025 at the Olean General Hospital, following a very sudden illness.
She was born June 28, 1948 in Salamanca, New York the daughter of the late Oscar and Mildred (Simpson) See. She was a 1966 graduate of Randolph Central School.
Rachel retired from the Randolph Veterinary Clinic, having worked with Dr. John Inkley DVM, where she was a Vet Tech and had also worked earlier on for Dr. Richard (Jean) Draudt DVM at the same Veterinary Clinic, where she assisted with surgeries. She had also worked for Quality and Tops Markets as a cashier in Randolph.
Rachel loved all animals and especially her dogs and she loved spending time with her sons Scott and John and extended family.
She is survived by her sons; Scott L. Horton of Randolph, John (Lori) Horton of Kennedy, and a special nephew George Milks and a sister-in-law; Brenda See of East Randolph.
Rachel was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Mildred, a son; Steven Horton, her former husband, Marion "Mort" Horton, siblings, Jeannette Finch, Julia Town, Orson See, Mabel Jean Hall, Howard Milks and Roy See.
As per Rachel's wishes, there will be no Visitation observed. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and will be announced by the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, Randolph.
