Ronnie Lee Hubbard, 85, of Beattyville, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at the Wolfe County Health and Rehab Center in Campton, Kentucky surrounded by his family. Born on August 22, 1940 in Coalgood, Kentucky, Ronnie lived a life marked by dedication to education, service to his country, and deep devotion to his family and community.

Ronnie earned a master's degree and devoted his professional life to shaping young minds as a high school special education teacher. His commitment to education left a lasting impact on countless students over the years. He also enjoyed driving the school bus on occasion. During the 1980s he owned and operated "The Hub" where many young kids hung out.

A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, Ronnie served his country with honor before returning home to pursue his career and build a life rooted in faith and family. He was an active member of Torrent First Church of God and found fellowship and purpose through his involvement as both a Mason and a Shriner.

Ronnie shared 30 loving years of marriage with his wife, Donna Hubbard. He was a devoted father to daughters, Krista Hubbard and Susan Spencer. His love extended deeply into the next generations as well-he cherished his granddaughter Lyndze Smoot and her husband Cory and held dear the memory of his great-grandson Grayson Daniel Smoot.

He is also remembered fondly by his sisters Wanda (A.T.) Hays, Marilyn (Pete) LaSala, and Elizabeth Martin; sister-in-law Lavonne Hubbard; special cousin Anna Bennett; and a host of nieces and nephews who brought joy to his life. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Acey Ray and Dorothy (Gillispie) Hubbard; brothers Donnie (Ina) Hubbard and David Hubbard; and great-grandson, Grayson Daniel Smoot.

Ronnie found joy in simple pleasures-browsing yard sales for hidden treasures, cheering on Kentucky basketball with unwavering enthusiasm, watching classic Westerns and science fiction films, attending horse races and spending quality time with family. These moments reflected the warmth of his spirit and the richness of a life well-lived.

Ronnie's funeral service will be held at the Breathitt Funeral Home Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 1:00 PM with A.T. Hays officiating. Visitation will begin Friday, September 26, at 5:00 PM with masonic rites at 7:00 PM. Military rites will be observed at the beginning of his funeral service on Saturday. Burial will follow in the Jackson Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Charles Hays, Burt Bellamy, Ted Edmonds, Gordon Edmonds, John Nickell, Donald Brandenburg, Don Combs, A.T. Hays, Pete LaSala.

May Ronnie's memory bring comfort to all who knew him and serve as a lasting reminder of a life filled with love, service, and dedication.
