It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Pastor Ronnie Lee Pendleton, born on April 23, 1945, who departed this life on January 30, 2025. Ronnie was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, whose presence will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was pastor of Eighth Street Church of God for over 30 years. He loved his family, hunting, fishing, and singing, and was the former owner of The Singing Samaritans.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert "Pap" Pendleton and Burree Pendleton; several brothers, and sister, Violet Gentry.
Pastor Pendleton is survived by his cherished family, including his wife of 62 years, Faye White Pendleton; son, Mark Pendleton and wife Kim; his daughters, Starla Lynn Pendleton, Leslie Pendleton Walker and husband Kyle; brother, Johnny Pendleton and wife Janice; grandchildren, Brooke Pendleton, Megan Poole, and Cameron Pendleton; great-grandchildren, Carly Walker, Weston Poole, Collin Walker, and Kaiden Ledford; and several nieces and nephews. His legacy of love and kindness will live on through his family.
To honor Ronnie's life and legacy, a visitation will be held at South Gastonia Church of God on Thursday, February 6, 2025, starting at 4:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 6:00 PM. Interment will be at Westview Gardens. The services for Pastor Pendleton will be officiated by Pastor Bobby Gilley, Pastor Johnny Pendleton, Pastor Carl Fosdick, and Pastor Michael Coe. Memorials may be made to Eighth Street Church of God, P.O. Box 898, Bessemer City, NC 28016.
Pastor Ronnie Pendleton will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for his family. As we come together to celebrate his remarkable life, we invite all who knew him to join us in honoring his memory. May he rest in peace.
