Ronnie J. Preston, age 69, passed away on October 14, 2025, in Trinidad, Texas. He was born on March 12, 1956, in Dallas, Texas to parents James and Eva (Bechtol) Preston.
Ronnie pursued interests that brought him excitement and relaxation. He especially enjoyed gambling, frequently visiting casinos where he could try his luck and enjoy the thrill of the game. These outings brought him much happiness, as did his quieter moments spent fishing in the great outdoors. There was something about being near the water that brought Ronnie peace, allowing him to recharge and reflect.
Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents, James and Eva Preston; sister, Donna Duncan; sister, Debbie Cosky; nephew, Thomas Lewis; and nephew, Jimmy Dale Krase.
Ronnie is survived by his sister, Kay Shugart and husband Randy of Krum, Texas; niece, Angela Harold and husband Eric of Lake Kiowa, Texas; nephew, Keith Shugart and wife Vanetta of Denton, Texas; niece, Misty Nugrete of Trinidad, Texas; best friends of 30 years, Donna and Kellus Pierce; many great-nieces and great-nephews, as well as many extended family, friends, and loved ones.
