Ronnie Lee Spence, a dedicated electrician and loving family man, passed away on November 29, 2025, at the Lakeland Regional Medical Center. Born on August 26, 1954, in Fort Riley, Kansas, Ronnie led a life full of love, creativity, and passion that touched the hearts of many.
Throughout his career, Ronnie served as an electrician for Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was not only a craftsman in his profession but also an avid carpenter who thoroughly enjoyed spending time in his woodshop. Ronnie's service in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War is a testament to his commitment and bravery. This part of his life shaped his character and instilled in him a sense of duty that would follow him throughout his days. Ronnie was saved and followed the Baptist faith.
An enthusiast for the simplicity of life, Ronnie found joy in various hobbies. He cherished fishing trips with his brother Donnie and brother-in-law Greg, and loved experimenting in the kitchen, where he often baked bread and biscuits. He also enjoyed visiting Harbor Freight with Donnie as the pair were always working on something. A true horse lover, Ronnie had a special bond with his horse Sonny, who has since passed. Ronnie could often be found watching YouTube videos to discover new skills and ideas. He loved all of his family and friends and was the person they went to when ever they needed a helping hand.
Ronnie's family was the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda Spence; daughter, Jessica Nichole Spence of Tampa; son, Michael James Spence of Frostproof; siblings, James Spence and wife Kathi, Donald Spence and wife Ginger of Frostproof, Sandy Macartney of Ohio, Tony Spence and wife Debra, Patrick Spence, and Sonja Dale and husband Greg, of Frostproof, as well as many cherished nieces and nephews. Ronnie will be remembered for his loving nature, his warmth, and the way he celebrated each new addition to the family. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Stella Spence, whose guiding spirits continue to be felt in their children's lives.
A visitation in honor of Ronnie Lee Spence will be held on December 6, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof, Florida. A funeral service will follow at Silver Hill Cemetery in Frostproof, beginning at 11:00 AM with Pastor Darrol Hood officiating.
