Ronnie Jack “Tank” Thomas, 64, of Central, loving husband to Patricia Grant Thomas, passed away July 16, 2024.
Born in Anderson, he was the son of the late Eulice Covie “Jack” Thomas and Barbara Ann Towe Thomas. Tank graduated from D.W. Daniel High School in 1978 and began a thirty-seven year career with Michelin, retiring as a supervisor. He was a longtime and active member of Cannon Memorial Baptist Church and an avid Clemson Tigers fan. Tank was selfless with his time. He volunteered with the Town of Central Recreation Department for over 30 years, coaching his children, grandchildren, and many other youth throughout the community. His greatest joy was his family and the time spent with them traveling or being with them at sporting events.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Grant Thomas; son, Brandon Thomas and wife Kelly of Central; daughter, Trista Wilson and husband Brad of Liberty; grandchildren, Khloe, Kenzi, Kolbi, Kadence, Talan, and Preslee; sister, Rhonda Leopard and husband Robert of Six Mile; brother-in-law, Mike Rhoads; nephews, Parker Rhoads, Caleb Rhoads, and Eric Leopard and wife Kim.
Tank is predeceased by his parents and siblings, Gregory Thomas and Marla Rhoads.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at Cannon Memorial Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be held in the church at 3:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens.
