CODY ROPER WEATHERSBEE, age 21, of Eastman, GA, died Monday, December 11, 2023, in Chamblee, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Friday, December 15, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Mr. Larry Faircloth and Rev. Jim Ward officiating, with interment in Pleasant Olive Cemetery.
Roper was born in Macon, GA, in 2002 and was a member of Antioch #1 Baptist Church. He was a 2020 graduate of DCHS, where he lettered in baseball, formerly attended Georgia Southern University, and was currently working on a psychology degree at Middle Georgia State University. Roper was a project manager for 1st National Roofing Company in Alpharetta, GA, for the past several months. He was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, and friend who loved baseball, listening to music, and online gaming with friends. He enjoyed dove hunting, hanging out with his friends, and trips to the beach at St. George Island, FLA. He was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandmother Linda Sue Howell and Paternal Grandfather, Wilson Weathersbee Jr.
He is survived by his Mother – Wendy Rowell Weathersbee (Greg Gatliff) of Eastman, GA; Father – Ed Weathersbee (Chelsea) of Eastman, GA; 2 Sisters – Raina Weathersbee (Hunter Price) and Ellie Weathersbee, both of Eastman, GA; Maternal Grandparents – Robert G. Howell and Benny Rowell (Wanda); Paternal Grandparents – Betty Jean Jones Weathersbee, Teresa Rogers, and Casey Rogers; Girlfriend – Garsee Thompson of Hartville, SC; Aunts and Uncles – Tom Weathersbee (Michelle) of Chester, James Weathersbee (Debbie) of Chester, Benji Rowell (Raegan) of Daytona Beach, FL, Patti Faircloth (Larry) Eastman, GA, Shirley Higgins (Keith) of Edisto Island, SC, Hunter Stubbs (Amber) of Rochelle, GA and Noah Rogers of Hawkinsville, GA; Numerous Cousins including – Breann Rowell, Chase Rowell, Noah Rowell, Kelly Weathersbee, and Michael Weathersbee.
The family may be contacted at the residence of Ed and Chelsea Weathersbee, 199 Tangerine Rd, Eastman, GA, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 6:00PM-8:00PM Thursday, December 14.
