Roque "Ernie" Aguilar, age 50, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2023, at home in South Plainfield. He was born in El Salvador, raised in Plainfield, NJ, and most recently has resided in South Plainfield, NJ.
Ernie was a graduate of Plainfield High School. He was a mason by trade and enjoyed his work. He also enjoyed watching sports and making people laugh, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.
He was predeceased by his mother, Aura "Alicia" Comayagua, in 2017.
Ernie is survived by his two siblings, Jorge Comayagua and Fatima Perez, and five nieces and nephews, Stephanie Barrera, Melissa Perez, Yessica Rodriguez, James Perez, and Adrian Comayagua.
A visitation will be held on Monday, April 3, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, followed by a 7:00 pm funeral service at Higgins Home For Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ 07069. Cremation was private. A private interment will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains, NJ.
