Briggs W. Beale
Born: December 5, 1961 | Deceased: June 12, 2025
Briggs W. Beale was born in Lancaster, Virginia, to Albert and Frances Beale. He lived in Virginia until 1978, when he moved to Plainfield, New Jersey, where he attended Plainfield High School.
Briggs dedicated his career to serving as a police officer for Union County, NJ, retiring on April 1, 2016. Though he was often quiet, Briggs touched many lives through his willingness to teach and share wisdom when asked. His greatest pride and joy was his daughter, Sadena Perez-Beale, whom he cherished deeply. He was incredibly proud of her career in public service.
Briggs also took pride in his godchildren. He enjoyed many hobbies, including ordering gadgets from Amazon and Temu just to see if they worked, often with success. His favorite pastime was fishing. He loved spending time on the water, teaching others how to fish, and sharing stories. Briggs also enjoyed trips to the shore, searching for crabs, and spending quality time in Seaside Heights with his daughter Sadena, along with his godchildren Amber, Michael (Mikey), and James (Pop).
He cherished sitting on the front porch chatting with his mother, Frances, and often took her shopping, cooking her favorite foods to see her smile. Briggs will be truly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edward and Clara Bell Blackmond; his father, Albert Beale; and his sister, Zelda Roberts.
Briggs leaves to cherish his memory:
- His daughter, Sadena Perez-Beale
- His mother, Frances Beale
- His brother, Eric Beale
- His godchildren, Amber, James, and Michael Williams
He is also survived by his best friends, Redena Perez-Williams of Plainfield, NJ; Regina Perez of Allentown, PA; and Augustine Perez of Whitehall, PA. His favorite cousins, Melinda Boyce of Plainfield, NJ, and Linda Beale of Cherry Hill, NJ.
Additionally, he leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces who will remember him fondly.
