It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Rosa Elva Baeza, a beloved member of the Marfa community. Rosa Elva was born on September 5, 1936, in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico, and peacefully passed away on October 22, 2024.
Rosa Elva was a devoted housewife who dedicated her life to caring for her family with love and warmth. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and compassion that will be cherished by all who knew her. She enjoyed sewing and gardening. Rosa spent most of her life in Marfa, Texas on a ranch.
She is survived by sons David Baeza, Oscar Baeza, Raul Baeza, and daughters Maria Pantoja (Angel) and Elsa Baeza, and brother Jose Hinojosa; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rosa Elva's memory will also be treasured by her extended family and friends.
A Funeral Service to honor and celebrate Rosa Elva's life was held on October 28, 2024, at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church. In this time of grief, we come together to mourn the loss of a remarkable woman while finding solace in the memories we shared with her.
May Rosa Elva Baeza rest in peace, and may her spirit continue to guide and inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her. She will forever be remembered with love and affection.
Rosa was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Baeza; parents, Faustino and Felipa Hinojosa; and her infant daughter, Sandra Baeza; brothers, Jesus Hinojosa, Ramon Hinojosa, Alejandro Hinojosa, and Roberto Cervantez; and sister Maria Rios.
