Rosa Maria Brooks, 91, Homemaker, died on December 5, 2025 at Cate’s Hospice House in Ocala, FL. She was born into this life on July 22, 1934 in Tripoli, Libya (an Italian territory at the time), and was the daughter to the late Rosario and Agata (Alessandrello) Nicosia. Rosa met her husband, John, who was stationed in her hometown in Lybia when she was nineteen. They soon got married and lived in many different areas during John’s service with the United States Air Force. In 1983 Rosa and John moved to South Florida, eventually making their home in Wellington, Palm Beach County. John and Rosa moved to Dunnellon in 1996. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of seventy one years, John H. Brooks; her daughters, Rhonda Brooks Calderone and Laura Denise Brooks Drinnenberg and her husband, Matthew.
There will be a public viewing held on Monday, December 29, 2025 from 9-10 AM at Roberts Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Dunnellon. Entombment will be held at Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens.
