In Loving Memory of Rosa Delia Gastelum
1948 - 2024
Rosa Delia Gastelum, a beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2024, in Fort Worth, Texas, at the age of 76. Born on April 28, 1948, in Cananea, Mexico, to Juan Bagnod and Aurora Gamez, Rosa's life was a tapestry of love, faith, and unwavering dedication to her family.
Rosa grew up in Cananea, where her deep-rooted Catholic faith shaped her values and guided her throughout her life. In 1989, she took a courageous step, moving to the United States, where she proudly became a U.S. citizen-a testament to her resilience and determination.
Rosa was not only an exceptional mother but also a talented accountant, known for her remarkable skills in preparing taxes. Her sharp mind and attention to detail were matched only by her nurturing spirit. She instilled in her sons, Jose and Carlos, the virtues of patience and kindness, lessons that will resonate in their hearts forever.
Nature held a special place in Rosa's heart. She loved taking long walks by the streams, where she found solace and inspiration in the beauty around her. Her culinary talents shone brightly in the kitchen, particularly when she prepared her famous red mole with shredded chicken-a dish that brought her family together and filled their home with warmth.
Rosa found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She delighted in watching "America's Funniest Home Videos," relishing in laughter with her family. Her visits to Michigan to see her son brought her immense happiness, particularly because of the lush greenery that reminded her of her roots.
A lover of puzzles, Rosa spent countless hours immersed in crossword challenges and assembling jigsaw puzzles, demonstrating her patience and love for intellectual engagement. Her competitive spirit emerged during family game nights, where she enjoyed playing Skip-Bo, always ready with a playful wink to bend the rules in her favor.
Rosa is survived by her devoted husband, Jose S. Gastelum; her sons, Jose L. Gastelum and Carlos Gastelum, along with his wife Kornelia; and a loving extended family of relatives and friends who will cherish her memory. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Martin Bagnod, and her sister Angelina Bagnod.
A graveside service to honor Rosa's life will be held at Azleland Cemetery & Memorial Park on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 2 PM, located at 850 N. Cardinal Rd, Azle, Texas, 76020.
Rosa Delia Gastelum will be remembered for her boundless love, her laughter, and her indomitable spirit. Her legacy of kindness and strength will continue to inspire all who knew her.
