Rosa Lee Gatling

On October 8, 2025 GOD in HIS infinite wisdom dispatched HIS angels of mercy for our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend, Rosa Lee Gatling. Rosa was born in Suffolk VA to the late Sarah Mildred Gatling and Frederick Parker and raised in Gates N.C. Rosa started her love of school bus driving in the early 80's in Gates N.C and continued driving for Portsmouth Public Schools until the late 90's.
Rosa leaves to cherish her memory, five (5) loving children Lisa Gatling(Joe) of Chesapeake VA, Roderic Gatling of Bunn N.C, Loretta Hall of Philadelphia PA, La-Keithia Gatling of Suffolk VA and Kennyell Gatling of Chesapeake VA. Fourteen (14) Grandkids Montel Gatling (Onjaleek), Tona Gatling, Marcuz Gatling, Diamond Jones, Davon Hall, Tomaz Hall, Nyia Hall, Jharvai Hall, Khalia Hall, Naudia Watkins, Jermaine Roberts Jr, Ka'mihr Gatling, Ken'yasia Gatling, Messiah Gatling and one granddaughter, the late Legacy Gatling, eight(8) great-grandchildren, four (4) brothers Leon Gatling, Keith Gatling, Fred Parker Jr and Randy Parker, seven (7) sisters Sheila Gatling, Linda Wiggins(Wesley), Diane Wiggins, Sally Robinson, Sarah Petty, Frances Parker, Glenda Parker and two sisters predeceased Deborah Wilson and Ann Ricks and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family members, loved ones and friends.
Rosa will truly be missed for her early morning phone calls, her love for clothes and jewelry, her genuine love for people especially the babies in the family and let's not forget her love of the Hayden Village Senior Center where she spent her days at going on field trips and playing bingo. Thank you to all that loved our mother and we as her children would like to express our sincere appreciation for the many acts of kindness shown to us during this difficult time. May God Bless you.
