Rosalia Rivera Otero Gonzalez, 93, of Ballston Spa, New York, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025. Born on July 5, 1932, in Cialis, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Luisa Otero and Fernando Rivera.
On February 5, 1949, she married Ismael Gonzalez, and together they began their life in the farmlands of Vineland, New Jersey. The couple later settled in Brooklyn, New York, where Rosalia worked as a seamstress and garment worker. After separating from her husband, Rosalia divided her time between Brooklyn and Puerto Rico, remaining deeply connected to both places she loved.
Rosalia was a woman of many talents and passions. She loved cooking, sewing, gardening, and making handmade material dolls. She cherished her island of Puerto Rico, especially her beloved village of Palma Altas and the beaches where she grew up. Known for her exceptional cooking, Rosalia's recipes will be lovingly passed down through generations. Her family will forever remember her for her warmth, creativity, and the love she poured into everything she did.
Rosalia is survived by her six children Ismael Gonzalez (Grimilda), Lucy Torres (Richard), Carlos Gonzalez, Mary Gonzalez (Victor), Laura Gonzalez (Wilfred), and Annie Mackey; along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Monday, October 20 from 2pm to 5pm at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa, NY. A service will follow at 5pm.
