Linda Lee Brown, 82, of Malta, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 13, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, after a nine-year battle with Alzheimer's disease. Linda was born on December 22, 1942, in Keene Valley, NY. Linda was the oldest daughter of the late Augustus and Ethel Edmonds. She was raised in Keene Valley and graduated from Keene Central High School in 1960.
After graduating from Albany Business College in 1962, Linda began her career as a secretary for the NY State Department of Transportation, where she worked for six years. It was there that she met the love of her life, Ron (Ronnie). Ron and Linda wed on July 10, 1965, and were married 47 years before Ron passed away in March 2012.
Linda took a fifteen year break from her work career to raise her three children, she then returned to the workforce for another ten plus years. Linda enjoyed her various jobs, bosses and coworkers but her most important roles and the ones she took the most pride in was being a loving WIFE and MOTHER. She was a caregiver, a nurturer and a supporter. Linda was affectionate, gentle, warm, compassionate and kind. She was selfless, giving, comforting and encouraging. She would always listen and give her calm advice. She was easygoing, relaxed, unhurried and calm. She loved to cook and bake for her family. She was the parent who was rushing the children around to all of their activities while still having dinner on the table. Rice Krispie treats and homemade cookies when getting off the bus always made her children feel loved. Linda enjoyed doing her ceramic and cake decorating classes and sewing projects. She loved playing tennis and took up golf in her retirement years.
Ron and Linda were fortunate to have fifteen years as snowbirds, traveling to Florida for the winter months. Anna Maria Island was like their second home, and they couldn't wait each year to leave snowy NY for sunny Florida.
Linda is survived by her three children, Kim Bowman of Raleigh, NC. Traci Brown (Dave) of Clifton Park and Jeffrey Brown (Molly) of Clifton Park; her sisters Anne Stephens (Blair) and Nancy Gonyea (Wesley); her sister-in-law Carol DeMartino (Robert); her five grandchildren Torrin Brown, Lauren Bowman, Grant Bowman, Cooper Brown and Callie Brown; her two great grandchildren Wesley and Landon Bowman Wright, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Saturday, October 18 from 9:30 am to 11am at the Round Lake United Methodist Church, 34 George Avenue, Round Lake. A service will be held at 11am. Burial will follow in Malta Ridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Linda may be made to Round Lake United Methodist Church, PO Box 485, Round Lake, NY 12151 or to the Alzheimer's Association

I had the pleasure of not only working with Linda but socializing with her and Ron.
She was a quiet, kind, and loving woman with a unique personality who loved to laugh. We shared lots of laughter and memorable moments one peculiar event happened on golf course.
Ron and I played a lot of golf in Florida and Linda very rarely but one fine day she decided to make a threesome.
One hole had a waste area 70 yards out from green, Ron and I hit our shots from the fairway and proceeded over the bridge toward the green while Linda was struggling to get over the waste area. She eventually gave up and walked up to the green leaving the cart some 90 yards back in the fairway, Ron was not too happy, I was laughing and Linda didn't know what the fuss was all about. I drove Ron back and got the cart.
I think that was our last threesome.
