Rosalie Pelletier Curry, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025, at the age of 95 in Mesquite, Texas. Born on October 19, 1930, in Taunton, Massachusetts, Rosalie was a woman whose passion for life and love for her family knew no bounds.
Rosalie's journey through life was marked by her dedication to her family, her church, and the countless children she nurtured throughout her years. She leaves behind a legacy of love and faithfulness, survived by her loving children, James W. Curry and his husband Wolfgang Agler, Allison Curry, John M. Curry and his wife Sharon, and Rose Marie Stone and her husband Steven.
Her grandchildren, Natasha M. Waldrop and her husband Brad, Nicole L. Carver and her husband Fernando Quesada, James H. Carver, John David Curry, and Jason D. Curry and his wife Noelle, will carry forward her nurturing spirit. Rosalie's great-grandchildren, Breanna M. Waldrop and Wesley B. Curry, were her pride and joy, and she delighted in every moment spent with them.
She also held a special place in her heart for her son-in-law, John H. Carver
Jim Greene, though not related by blood, was treasured as a son by Rosalie and remains a testament to her expansive capacity for love.
Rosalie was the beloved sister of Sandra Gagnon,(Roland) Bill Pelletier,(Dorothea) Arthur Pelletier,(Debra) Louise Teixeira, (Frank) Norman Pelletier (Rosie) James Medeiros (Maureen), and Sheryl Corey .(Steve*deceased) and sister in law, Marie Pelletier wife of Allan Pelletier.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James A. Curry, her parents, Wilfred Pelletier and Mary Louise Dwyer, and her siblings, Florence (Bill), Collins, Patricia (Paul) Reed, Alan Pelletier and Gemma Pelletier.
Rosalie's memory also lives on through numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Rosalie's work with the youth groups at St. Andrew Presbyterian and as caregiver and then director of St. Mark Mother's day out painted a picture of a woman deeply committed to the well-being of not only her children, but any child that she had in her care. She devoted herself to teaching and nurturing the youth in her church, ensuring they received the love and care they deserved. Her belief in the importance of childcare education was reflected in her actions, and she continued to attend classes to ensure her knowledge was current
Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, leading her to become a charter member for two churches-First United Presbyterian Church in Virginia and St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in San Antonio, TX.
As a longtime member of St. Mark Presbyterian Church in Dallas, Texas, Rosalie's faith-filled presence was a source of comfort and inspiration to many.
Rosalie was best described as kind, faith-filled, and passionate. Her influence and teachings have left indelible marks on the lives of those she touched. She believed deeply in creating a safe and loving environment, not only within her own home but in every community she was a part of. Her life was a reflection of her deep faith, compassion for others and unwavering dedication to making the world around her better. Rosalie's kindness, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to others will continue to inspire all who knew her.
A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at 3:00pm at Reflections-Rest Haven Rockwall. Interment to follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park. A visitation of family and friends will take place an hour prior to service starting at 2:00pm. In Lieu of flowers please send donations to Heifer International at heifer.org or St. Mark Presbyterian Church Music Fund.
