On the afternoon of August 27th, 2025, Rosalie Robertson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, and best friend to many, passed away quietly in her sleep. She was 89 years old, born and raised in Salisbury, Maryland. She rarely ever left the "good ole Eastern Shore."

Rosalie ("Posy") is predeceased by her husband of 70 years, George H. Robertson, her mother, Marie Lewis, one of her sisters, Patricia Disharoom, and brother, James Smullen.

Rosalie is survived by her eldest child; George Harry Robertson his wife, Angie, of Salisbury, MD; her middle child John R. Robertson his partner, David Sisson, of Hagerstown, MD; her youngest child Michelle L. Donaldson of Aurora, Colorado. She is also survived by her grandson, Jacob M. Robertson his wife, Amal, of Gaithersburg, MD; Joshua A. Robertson of Salisbury, MD; Heather Carson her partner, Jay Ali, of Delmar, MD. Rosalie is further survived by her great grandchildren, Jaden Carson; Chase Robertson; Shannon Robertson; her sister Geraldine Krieg her husband, Fran; sister Nellie Nuckols; and sister-in-law Chrissie Smullen.

Leaving home when she was only 13 years old, she worked her entire life. As a teenager, she cleaned chicken houses, then a sewing machine operator with Manhattan shirt factory, moving on to A&P grocery stores in the meat department to, finally, quality control supervisor at Gant Corporation. Even after retiring, she continued to work part time at the Wicomico Nursing Home where she was employee of the year in 2013.

She loved nothing more than being surrounded by her family and friends (the occasional "mudslide" made good company, as well). Known for her feisty personality, she was happy to put anyone in their place when she felt the need. Once scolded by "Posy", it was a memory you would keep for fear of a repeat reminder of your wrongdoing.

Dear mom, we thank you for your unending humor and grace, your fierce determination to what was right, your conviction to your God, and your deep, abiding love for your family. Loved by many she will be missed by all who knew her.

While we understand no one can live forever, we had hoped, our mother, our sister, our sister-in-law, our grandmother, our great grandmother, our friend could have stayed with us just a little while longer. May she now enjoy the rest she so greatly deserves: "...Now cracks a noble heart. Good night, sweet princess, and may flights of angels sing thee to thy rest."

If our love alone could have saved you, you would have never died.

At the request of the family, there will be no service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Rosalie Robertson to Coastal Hospice, PO Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802.
