Rosalyn Marie Lemon of Golden, Colorado, was born December 3, 1936, in Cicero,
Illinois. Rosalyn "Ro" was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Robert
Lemon, and beloved son, Ray Lemon. She is survived by her son, Richard Lemon; her
daughter, Renene Kulbacki (Kevin); grandchildren Justin Kulbacki (Kristen) and Cara
Fabisiak (Alex); and four great-grandchildren: Neala, Adaira, Loxie, and William.
Rosalyn loved living in Golden since the summer of 1971, when she and her husband
Bob loaded up their three children and, while vacationing in Golden, bought a house.
They returned to their home state of Illinois, sold their home, and moved to Golden
before the school year began. Together they worked on starting several businesses,
and Ro also worked in bookkeeping and accounting for various companies.
After Bob passed away in 1995, Ro dedicated herself to volunteering. She contributed
so many hours to numerous organizations that she received the Elks Distinguished
Citizenship Award in 2011 and the Jefferson County Senior Heroes Award in 2014. The
Golden Visitor Center, Foothills Art Center, Donor Alliance, and Jeffco Action Center
were among the many organizations for which she volunteered. Ro was an active
member of American Legion Post 21, where she served as chaplain, and she attended
Faith Lutheran Church, Golden Red Hat Society and was a 2005 graduate of the
Golden Police Department Citizens Academy.
Anyone who knew Ro knows she was a devoted Elvis fan. She never missed a chance
to see an Elvis impersonator and had a large collection of Elvis memorabilia, as well as
making several trips to Graceland.
A celebration of Rosalyn's life will be held at a date to be determined.
