Roscoe Heath Nelson Jr. of Ocean City, passed away on September 29th, 2025, at the age of 79. Born in Berlin, on July 5, 1946, he was the son of the late Roscoe Heath Nelson Sr. and Josephine Sobotka Nelson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother George Thomas Nelson, and sisters, Virginia Lee Parsons and Dorothy Mae Timmons.

Roscoe attended Stephen Decatur High School. After High School Roscoe held many different jobs that would all leave lasting effects on the local community. Roscoe helped design hotels that still line the beach and boardwalk today, he was a skilled carpenter, and he was always ready to do whatever he had to in order to fight against the County Government to save his beloved motel, that once sat on Route 50 in West Ocean City, The Alamo. Roscoe will be remembered for always giving a helping hand, his quick wit and giving everyone a smile & a wave from his "nub".

Roscoe is survived by his nephew Travis Donaway (Brittanie) and a great nephew Coulter Donaway, all of Snow Hill. Also, very dear and close to Roscoe, were special friends Judy Whalan & Caitlin Whalan Jones. Roscoe touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date. The family of Roscoe would like to extend sincere gratitude to the staff of Deer's Head Hospital in Salisbury for the care that Roscoe received over the past few years. Letters of condolences can be sent to the family via www.burbagefuneralhome.com. Arrangements are in the care of The Burbage Funeral Home.
