Rose Bohlman Obituary

Rose Marie Bohlman, age 64, of Oshkosh WI, passed away at Aurora Bay Care Medical Center in Green Bay, WI on May 13, 2025.

Rose was born on January 21, 1961, in Green Bay, daughter of Andrew and Margaret (Gerarden) Forsythe. She graduated from West De Pere High school in1979. While attending UW Oshkosh she met her husband Dale Bohlman on Friday the 13th; they married in 1988 and were blessed with 36 years together.

Rose worked at a local nursing home as a PT and OT aid until she had children Elizabeth and Nathan. Being a homemaker and raising her children, alongside Dale, was one of the most important aspects of her life and her proudest achievement. Once the kids were older, Rose went into home health care. Her last clients were autistic boys who were very dear to her heart.

Rose was the secretary for United Women of Faith at Algoma Boulevard United Methodist Church, Chair of the Sunshine Committee for the Oshkosh Garden Club, and Co-Leader of a Girl Scout troop. Rose enjoyed helping others, reading books, nature walks, gardening, crafting, and baking. She loved her pets, three rabbits and her dog Opal. Most of all, Rose enjoyed talking and spending time with people.
Rose truly represented what her name means – "Love". When Rose was young, she was inspired by the Emily Dickenson poem If I Can Stop One Heart from Breaking. This became her guiding purpose in life. Her compassion and caring for others were limitless.

Rose is survived by her husband, Dale Bohlman; children Elizabeth and Nathan Bohlman; siblings Cathy (Jeff) Leitner, Jean (Terry) Peterson, Andrew (Francis) and Anthony Forsythe, Mother-in-law Muriel Bohlman brother and law Scott (Victoria) Bohlman, nieces and nephews Joshua and Alisha Klingbeil, Nicole (Jacob) Phillips, and Phillips (Courtney) Bohlman. Grand-nieces Abby Leitner, River and Rain Klingbeil, Jocelyn and Lorelei Phillips. We would like to give special thanks to Jeanne Bredbeck for all her support and help that she gave Rose and her family during her cancer treatment.

A memorial service for Rose will be held on Saturday, May 24th, at 12:00 pm at The Algoma Boulevard United Methodist Church, 1174 Algoma Blvd, Oshkosh. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am. The service will be followed by a light lunch.

Donations may be made in memory of Rose Bohlman to The ABUMC Women of Faith or the Oshkosh Garden Club.

Rose, the kindest person I have ever known. She would buy a bouquet of flowers and share them with friends. She would bake oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and share them with myself and my children. Just an all around good kind person. Never making judgement. The Lord took her too soon, she was well loved by many. Thank you for the gift of your friendship. Sandi
