Rose Cuervo passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, May 26, 2023. Born on May 25, 1935, in Brooklyn, NY, she later moved to Staten Island, NY, Manalapan, NJ, and Ashland, NY, before moving to the Villages, Florida in 2012.
She is survived by her loving husband Joe, his daughter Lauren, her husband Brian and their son Jackson, her brother Vincent Anello, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Salvatore and Rosalie Anello, her beloved son Tony Trimarco and sisters Francis Gomes and Theresa Richichi.
Prior to her retirement, Rose spent decades working as a wardrobe supervisor for films and television. Some of her credits include Fame, Moonstruck, Scrooged, Last Action Hero, Guiding Light, The Equalizer and Sesame Street.
Before her illness, Rose was an avid cook, gardener, and reader. She loved watching movies and political news, and proudly boasted that her marriage worked because she and Joe laughed together every single day.
Rose will be remembered for her infectious smile, resilience, gratitude and strength.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, and from 2:00-5:00 & 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
A Mass of Chrisian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 2, 2023, at Holy Child Church located at 4747 Amboy Road Staten Island, New York 10312. Interment will be in Moravian Cemetery, Staten Island, NY.
