Rose Drum Obituary
She was born in Columbus, Ohio, on November 26, 1934, to James Ogle and Ellen Vandergrift. During her childhood years, Rose resided with her maternal grandparents, George and Cecilia Vandergrift, across the street from the newly built Holy Name Church. She attended Holy Name Catholic Grade School and later graduated from Columbus North High School in 1953.
Rose dedicated nearly fifty years of her career to United Commercial Travelers Insurance, where she was admired for her commitment and professionalism.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Burl Drum; grandmother Cecilia Vandergrift; mother Ellen Clark; sister Barbara Wills; and brother Jim Ogle.
Rose is survived by her son, Mark (Debbi) Drum of Delaware, Ohio, and daughter Rhonda (Brad) Gearheart of Westerville, Ohio. She was blessed with four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchild, all of whom brought her immense joy.
Rose will be remembered for her love of music, her bright smile, devotion to family, her strong faith, and her lifelong dedication to hard work. Her legacy of love and resilience will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either: Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 20 E Dominion Blvd, Columbus, OH 43214 or Capital City Hospice, 2800 Corporate Exchange Dr. #170, Columbus, Ohio 43231.
A visitation will be held at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church on Friday, December 12th from 9:30am to 10:30am with a funeral service at 10:30. Interment at Union Cemetery to follow.
