Rose Marie Dunn Grinstead, 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Twin Lakes Community. A native of Alamance County, she was born October 15, 1936 to the late Charlie Zack Dunn, Sr. and Thelma Fuqua Dunn and was the wife of 62 years to Coy Bedford “Dick” Grinstead who passed away in 2009.
Rose was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She enjoyed sewing, baking, cooking and had a love for animals. Rose was a wonderful, loving mother who cherished time with her family and was always there when you needed her.
Survivors include her sons, Ronnie Grinstead and wife Robyn, Todd Grinstead and husband Norman Crist; granddaughter, Katelynn Crowder and husband Travis; great grandchildren, Lena-Rose Crowder and Logan Crowder; sisters, Marilyn Nelson, Pat Perry and husband Gene and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; brother, Zack Dunn, Jr. and sisters, Carolyn Dunn, Betty Bell and Norma Dance.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, July 17, 2023 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Darrell Massey with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45 prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to AuthoraCare Collective (Hospice) of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215 or to the Humane Society of Alamance County, 2213 Edgewood Ave, Burlington, NC 27215.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to the nurses and staff at Twin Lakes Community for their loving care and support during Rose’s stay.
