OAKFIELD - Rose Ellen Hammell, 83, passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday morning, January 17, 2025. Graveside funeral services will take place at 3 p.m. on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Oakfield Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends are welcome to pay their respects during the visitation at the funeral home on Thursday, January 23, 2025, from 1 p.m. until we depart for graveside at 2:30 p.m.
Born in Grand Ledge, Michigan, Rose was the daughter of William Wesley Sawyer and Beatrice Viola Jones Sawyer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Charles Hammell, who passed away in 2017; her son, Raymond Charles Hammell, Jr.; and her son-in-law, Douglas B. Boothe, Sr. A devoted homemaker, Rose dedicated her life to her family.
She is survived by her children: William T. Hammell of Oakfield, Peggy Sue Hammell of Oakfield, and Michelle Lynn Graber of Coral Springs, Florida. She is also survived by her brother, Harold Aaron Sawyer, and his wife, Anise, of Zebulon, Georgia.
Rose cherished her grandchildren: Misty Morales (Alex), Jamie Lee Boothe, Dawn Marie Barneman, William Hammell, Jr., and Douglas B. Boothe, Jr.; and her 11 great-grandchildren.
