Rose Marie Kochanski
Grafton, IL - Rose Marie Kochanski, 88, died at 1:57 p.m. on Friday, April 25, 2025 at her residence. She was born May 21, 1936 in Alton, the daughter of the late Daniel and Gertrude (Hentrich) Maher. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Grafton where she participated in the Alter Society. Rose worked for many years as a bookkeeper for the City of Alton. On April 27, 1957 in Alton, she married Donald James Kochanski, and he preceded her in death on November 12, 2016.
Surviving are three daughters, Donna Meyer (Alan), Mary Rose Kochanski Runde Jenkins (Bryan), Elizabeth Mincy-Phipps (Brian); four sons: Ted Kochanski (Alicia), John Kochanski, Andrew Kochanski (Wendy) and Stan Kochanski (Trish); fourteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; and one sister, T. Kathleen Meyers. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one infant son, Timothy Donald Kochanski; one granddaughter, Lisa Marie Runde; two brothers, Robert Maher, Daniel Maher; and one sister, Jeannette Droste.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Grafton. Burial will be at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Godfrey. Father Martin Smith will officiate. Memorials may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society or St. Patrick's Catholic Church or masses. Gent Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Additional information and online guest book may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com.
