Rose Koerber Obituary

Miss Rose Antonette Koerber passed away peacefully at her home in Gaithersburg,

Maryland on December 17, 2025, at the age of 107. Born in Washington, DC in 1918,

the daughter of Anton and Rose Koerber, she had the unique distinction of living

through 2 worldwide pandemics and a world war. Her greatest joy, however, was

serving her God, Jehovah. Baptized in 1931 as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, Rose

faithfully served as a minister of the good news for 94 years. She also served at the

worldwide headquarters of Jehovah's Witnesses as a young woman and traveled with

her father serving various congregations. She began each day reading her Bible. Her

love of the ministry was evident by her volunteering to spend, at times, 90 hours a

month helping others learn the truth in the Bible. Her selfless and giving personality

was evident in all she did including caring for her mother for many years after she was

bedridden from a stroke. Rose was known to be frugal, healthy (before it was in

fashion), detail-oriented, organized and extremely humorous. Even up through the last

year of her life she constantly kept her friends laughing with her witty quips. When

asked how she was one of her favorite responses was, "One foot in the grave and one

on a banana peel." Rose was a dignified, self sacrificing, strong, and beloved person

who touched the lives of many. All who knew her loved her and she will be deeply

missed. She is survived by her niece Toni Koerber
